Health Care, a Plan

without comments

Our administration and representatives are negotiating the terms to take over our health care system, in the belief that it is too expensive, and will cripple our economy if the costs are not controlled.  The human element is the plea to cover people that do not have insurance, so they will have access to the best care money can buy.

Rather than plow ground that has been plowed by writers more gifted than I, my focus is how to provide health care to uninsured citizens.  If this is a national priority, let’s not destroy the health care system that stands between us, and the grim reaper in the process.

As a former County Commissioner, I had the responsibility to oversee and fund the county health department.  This health care facility provided basic services to many who could not afford (or chose not to pay for) access to private care.

County health departments exist throughout the nation, working quietly to benefit society’s poorest citizens.  Free or reduced price, health care is already being provided depending on your ability to pay.

The present discussion is about building a new bureaucracy and restricting health access for everyone.  Why not increase the funding for County Health Departments around the nation?

In exchange for this added charitable benefit, the uninsured could only be treated at hospital emergency rooms after hours, and only if hospitalization was required.  Hospitals would bill the county health department for any services provided, at the lowest negotiated group network price.  Hospital emergency rooms would no longer be required to accept anyone who walked in their door.

Sport and Health Care

without comments

It has been widely known for many years that there is a strong correlation between sport and health care. This is why many research facilities stress qualitative sport research, health and performance psychology, biomechanics and exercise physiology, but if you are solely an individual without access to all of those, what are you to do to increase your health care if you play in sports?

Many sport enthusiasts as well as sport athletes rely on sport or athlete supplements in order to improve their particular sports performance. This type of action has led to some medications being banned, but this does not apply to just supplements, and there are athletes who take them just to remain healthy. Thus the question now is what is in common health supplements and how do they correlate to sport and health care?

Creatine. Your body already produces this via your pancreas, liver and kidneys. It is also found in fish and meats in general. Creatine is used to improve the body’s strength. Athletes who participate in power lifting or sprinting benefit the most from it.
Country mallow. This particular plant supplement is known under many names such as Bala, white Mallow, Silky White Mallow, Sida Cordifolia, Malva-Branca-Sedosa, Malva-Branca, Khareti, Indian Chikana, Heartleaf, and Bariar. Both of its seeds and roots are used as ingredients in supplements and it is used to improve energy.
Bitter orange. Its Latin name is Citrus aurantium and it is actually created from an orange’s dried fruit, peel, leaves and flowers. It is used to keep weight down or even for weight loss.
Epimedium leaf extract. This particular Chinese herb has been widely used in order to treat sexual dysfunction, nerve and arthritic pain, as well as to treat fatigue.
Glucosamine. Glucosamine is naturally occurring in humans, but additional glucosamine supplements can stimulate cartilage growth, often found important to athletes.
Ribose. Out bodies create this naturally, as it is exceedingly important for energy. Thus this supplement gives better exercise performance as well as energy enhancement.

There are other races of administered health centers like health centers focused on women. Women have many specialized health care needs, like pregnancy. Some of the women’s health centers suggestion counseling services, abortion services and specialists in treating female types of cancer. These health centers focus on educating women about their health

It is only common sense that your body needs fuel to be able to move. Foods rich in carbohydrates should be a staple part of your sports nutrition diet plan and should never be short of it. The muscles in your body uses carbohydrates as their main source of fuel as you perform in sports or while exercising.

If your diet lacks sufficient carbohydrates, you will easily get tired and will not at your best while playing.

As you play or while doing workouts, your body burns and losses vital amino acids. One way to replenish it is by consuming protein rich foods. Protein is also responsible for repairing damaged muscles while playing or doing any hard workouts. And not only that it also stabilizes your blood sugar levels, protein also acts as fuel reserve when your body have used up all of your carbohydrates. Another food used by your body as fuel is fat. Though consuming fat may have a bad reputation as being unhealthy when consumed, you need to understand that it is an important component in your diet as an athlete. Fat is a concentrated source of potential energy that packs twice as much as protein or carbohydrates have.

Health Care Is Important

without comments

Health insurance is often taken for granted. A trip to the doctor for a checkup or emergency room is viewed as a right and so they seek treatment. Many people do care about what it costs or where the money comes from as long as they get relief or treatment.

Health care is best when it is regular and for those without health insurance it is a battle to stay well. Many people are diagnosed with severe health issues even before they experience symptoms when they are visiting their doctor for a routine examination or health screenings. These tools allow health issues to be discovered early and with most illnesses early detection is the key to having a successful treatment of such health issues.

For those without health insurance it is a waiting game, and a very costly one. Living life without symptoms or with mild symptoms that they are treating with home remedies and over the counter medications, which may go a long way in masking the symptoms but do very little to address the causes of these symptoms and uncovering the potentially deadly underlying symptoms of these malfunctions.

You may feel bad for those that cannot afford health insurance and then simply thing that as long as these issues do not affect you then you do not have to worry.
